  1. Hi cant wait but i dont no where the lake is could you please give me directions i live in varna many thanks howard

  2. Hi Howard. I’ve added a map from bgmaps.com. Copy and paste it into your browser.
I’ll also ensure there are signs on the road in the village at thr turn off from the main road.
If anyone wants to come up beforehand and have a dabble, let me know and I’ll ask the guys if it’s OK.
    Paul.

  3. hi paul,
really looking forward to fishing a new venue it looks a great place, any tips on the best way to fish the lake.
also a friend wants to come along but he doesnt have a six foot keep net,do the guys at the lake hire them?
    kind regards
    mark

  4. Believe it or not Mark, I’m probably the worst person to ask. I hardly ever fish the lake even though it’s on my doorstep, literally.
I’ll be targetting small fish on the day, but with kit powerfull enough to handle a lump should one come my way.
As for keepnets, I have one, maybe two spares which can be borrowed. Mind you I’ll have to repair them first, mice and all that.

    Slaps.

  6. It seems the link I gave earlier isn’t working properly, it only takes you to the big BG map on bgmaps.com
For better detail, do the following:

The link takes you to bgmaps.com only
To find us, use the search facility on the right of the main bgmaps screen (click the union jack 1st). under the heading settlement, type Manastir, Zip 9224.
From the list of options, select Village Manastir, Mun Provadiya, Prov Varna.
If you right click on the village, you’ll get an option to find the route to us and from you.
    Hope this helps,
    Slaps.

  7. Alternatively, use viamichelin route planner.
    in the route planner section:
Departure = Varna (or wherever you’re coming from)
    Destination = Manastir, Provdiya

That gets you to the village. Now how to get to the lake, (I’ll park my BLUE van, fiat Ducatto) in a prominent position at the turning):

If you’re entering the village from the direction of Devnya, turn left at the BLUE van and follow the potholed road/path for approximately 1Km until you see a lake. Stay on what remains of the tarmac until you come to a green static caravan. Look to your left and you’ll see us.
If you’re entering the village from Provadiya, go through the village centre and when you see the BLUE van, turn right and follow the same directions as above.

    Slaps.

  8. Today’s word is …..Re-stock. It’s alleged, by the management team, that another 3 tonne of small carp wil be going in the lake in the next few days!

  9. Eat your hearts out, I get a sack of trout pellet delivered tomorrow.

  10. Don’t forget, working party tomorrow morning, we’ll finish at 11 am and have a mini match afterwards.

  11. Yay! We’re back on line!!
Apologies folks, we’ve had no internet for the past week. Someone nicked the Mayor’s power cables and we’ve had to wait for it to be repaired. it’s a long story.
Anyway, another match tomorrow starting at 11am, as per usual, draw at 10am.
I’ll post last week’s results and what have you as soon as I’ve caught up on the backlog.

    Paul.

  12. Next Match – SUNDAY 8th August. same timings as before.
Be warned fellow Brits, we may have a larger contingent of Bulgarian anglers arriving this time.

  13. Due to popular demand, the next match will be Wednesday 18th August.
    Draw 2pm, fish 3 till 7pm.

PM me or email if you’re up for it.

    Slaps.
